Flights to Vilnius Buy

Tallinn and Riga are great but it's no secret that Vilnius is the best weekend destination of the three. There are fewer tourists and your money goes a bit further than in other Baltic capitals.

You'll definitely want to walk around in the old town, it's really nice and blessed with hills. Sampling Lithuanian traditional drinks and foods is also a great idea, because no matter where you're from, it makes your own national cuisine look very good. Most importantly, mingle with the locals — they're even friendlier than in other Baltic capitals (yes, even friendlier than Estonians :)

The cheapest way to reach the city is to go by city buses, the fare is 2 litas at press kiosks or 2.5 litas if bought from the driver. A scheduled taxi is another inexpensive way and a slightly faster way to get to the centre. The price for a ride is 3-4 litas depending on your destination in the city. And just to make it a bit more confusing, there is also a similarly priced train option. Taxis are 20-30 litas, but hey, comfort usually comes at a price!
