Whether you are fascinated by technology or lowland gorillas, Hanover is the place to go. Every spring the world’s largest computer expo CeBIT fills the immense Hanover fairgrounds with high-tech gadgets. And the gorillas? They can pretty much be found the whole year round at the magnificent Hanover Zoo. If the internationally famed Hanover’s State Opera House is not your cup of tea, feel free to visit the Masala world music festival instead. Hanoverians love fireworks. In addition to the fireworks competition in Herrenhäuser Gärten, the skies are painted bright during the Kleines Fest im Großen Garten (The Small Festival in the Great Garden) as well as the Frühlingsfest (Spring Festival), the world largest Schützenfest (Marksmen's Fairs) and Oktoberfest. One of the highlights of the summer festival season in Hannover is the Maschsee Lake Festival. All around the lake, over a million visitors each year are treated to performing arts for all ages, culinary delights and music. Yes, they have a -fest for every season!
